Getting the MLA arrested … well nearly
A leopard had strayed into a home in Amravati where Angad Deshmukh, the forest team and forest official were carrying the animal to a rescue center.
This politician appeared from nowhere and took over the tractor and made a parade out of the poor animal, getting himself photographed and teasing the animal. They went to the extent of threatening to kill our activists.
I called the local police and the forest department to lodge a complaint. The MLA was nearly arrested when ministers called from everywhere… pressurizing police to ‘leave him’.
I knew the fact that no cognizable offence could be made and there were more pressing issues to tackle. So I left it, but not without making it a statewide issue in the media. If nothing else I ensured he gets his bad publicity.
