The Truths KFC Would Never Want You To Know
When KFC came to Pune, we decided to expose it. Not just because of animal causes but because of it being the most chemical laden chain in the world. Our corrupt government actually changed the FDA rules to enable KFC run the business in India. From 1% the limit for maximum chemical allowed in food was raised to 4%. Can you imagine… it is legally allowed to load food with 4 % chemical of its food weight.
We totally messed up their business for 4 months. We would stand right outside the KFC outlets on weekends and distribute these leaflets. We had hundreds of their customers go back in horror. Many of them dumped their packets in dust bins and some of them puked it … when they read about what they had just eaten.
The franchise tried everything he could… threaten us. intimidate us, putting explanations in the store, and even offering to ‘make us happy’.
I am gad to say that KFC never picked up in Pune, of 2 outlets it opened, one is nearly empty and one runs somewhat. Importantly, they have not grown at all while most other chains have grown 3-4 fold in the same period. Our campaign hit them, when it hurt them the most.
I withdrew the campaign 4 months later to focus on other animal causes. This leaflet received appreciation all over, including the PETA Headquarters in the US.
