Smashed down snake charmers’ bastion
The Pune railway station had an eyesore of snake charmers performing all over the place. For last 4 years several NGOs conducted numerous raids… but each time a politician would pressurize the police.
I decided to it right this time. We went well prepared and caught 3 snake charmers and as many snakes in 10 minutes.
We first took them to the Police station. After 2 hours the forest guard arrived who took the accused while I took the snakes to the forest office. After 4 hours of grilling the two very old snake charmers were let off… except one who was sent to the lockup.
