This week : A cat, a pegion and a soft shelled turtle

Among the routine rescues this weekend.

A Donkey Rescued : On Tuesday a donkey was found to be injured on its foot, the tempo rescued him and sent it to the Blue Cross of Pune.

A Donkey Released : The same day, ‘Tappu’, who was rescued about 3 weeks ago looked good to go back and was released back from where we picked him up from.

Dog from IBM’s premises : Thursday… I was shocked to know that the management at SP Info City had hired some local goon to drive away dogs from their premises. A fractured dog was lying there for 2 days.  Our tempo went in and it has been shifted to the Blue Cross.

Crow : An injured crow  was found in Kothrud, however we could not save him, as he died on his way back

Pigeon : Our neighbour called me up for rescue of a pegion lying in their Jain temple. It was arranged to be picked up… but we discovered the bird to be infected with a deadly virus that is fatal and highly infectious. The bird is currently in isolation but I am not sure if we will be able to save him.

Kitten : own home : A call came from a person who has found a small kitten whose mother could not be located. I have inspired him to keep the kitten for a few days, if he is not able to take care we shall take him. He has liked the idea, let’s hope that becomes his permanent home.

The turtle : Chetan  from the Sindh Society call came regarding a soft shelled turtle he had found he wanted to know if he could keep it. I advised him that it is a schedule I animal and it mean a direct trip to Jail, till he gets bail.
I asked a fellow wildlie enthtu Varun Vaze to arrange for a release into the river.

Bitch with a tumour : Sherry, a commited animal lover called for a bitch who seemed to have tumour and needed urgent attention. Pritam picked up the animal and since the call from through Animal Farm they wanted to know if we could move the Animal to their shelter. We found it impossible to do that at night and so it was finally decided to move it to the Blue Cross of Pune at Mundhwa. The next day it was moved to the Animal Farm.

Dog at Kondhwa : A dog injured on its legs was noticed by a volunteer in Kondhwa. It was picked up and sent to the Blue Cross for treatment.
